Baseball, Twitch and H1Z1's Playerbase
Quote of the week:
Major League Baseball Has Its Sights Set On Esports
Although baseball does not yet have a game making fans scrambling to throw their money into it the professional organization still has their eyes set on esports. With so many of the professional leagues already involved we are all left to wonder when the MLB will join in. Jamie Leece the MLBAM’s VP of Games and VR believes esports are still in the early stages and he will continue to keep his eyes on the growth of the industry.
Twitch has a larger audience than mainstream media outlets
The world is now aware of the business opportunities esports offers, however to many peoples surprise it is slowly taking over. Recently it was announced that Twitch the main streaming platform for esports players has surpassed the worlds mainstream media outlets. The day of viewers turning on their TV’s to get what they are looking for seems to be a thing of the past, as more and more individuals are turning to streaming platforms for daily entertainment.
H1Z1’s Playerbase Has Fallen 90 Percent Since July
With all thriving communities there is always the chance of heartbreak. Unfortunately for H1Z1’s Playerbase this looks to be the case. The once popular game has had a 90% decrease of concurrent players since July of 2017. The game lands itself in a tough category with many top named competitors. Most recently Player Unknown Battle Grounds and Fortnite have taken over the top spots. Staying in the top spot though is a hard task in the esports community; a year from now the world can only guess who will be number one.
