The Inaugural FICWC

The Inaugural FICWC

This year, for the first time ever, there will be a FIFA Interactive Club World Cup where real football clubs will submit their eSports FIFA17 representatives to fight for the Club World Cup Title.

Last stop on the Road To London.

The 2017 FIFA Interactive World Cup has seen the longest ever qualifying period, with the nine-month long period spanning from November 2016 to August 2017. Over the three seasons, 6.5 million FIFA fans from all over the world participated in the online qualifying. Each season was gruelling with participants playing 40 matches a weekend on FUT Champions to rank as high as they possibly could to qualify for the live events.

Now, after the FUT Championship Live Series Finals and the FIWC Regional Finals in Rest of the World and Europe, there are 10 seats left at the Grand Final. 8 of the final 10 seats will be won at the FIWC Regional Final Americas in Los Angeles on the 28th of July.

The final two seats will be granted to the two professional eSports representatives who make it to the final of the FICWC. They will then face off in the Final Showdown to see who will be crowned Club World Cup Champion.

19 Clubs. 24 Players.

A total of 19 clubs have submitted professional eSports representatives to compete at the FICWC to represent them on the interactive field. 24 players from clubs such as PSG eSports, West Ham United, Manchester City, Valencia eSports and Brøndby have been submitted to participate in the contest.

PSG eSports is probably the biggest eSports Football Club out there and August ‘AGGE’ Rosenmeier is their marquee signing. A two-time FIWC Winner, ‘AGGE’ is a veteran of the scene and will be a strong favourite. He is joined by his teammate Lucas ‘DAXE’ Cuillerier, the young Frenchman who will also be a strong favourite.

A new Doctor in town.

Erhan ‘DR.ERHANO’ Kayman is a two-time German Champion on Pro Evolution Soccer as well as FIFA, and was a FIWC Regional Finalist in Seasons 1, 2 and 3. He has competed in countless live and online competitions over the past 6 years and now his potential as an eSports representative has been noticed by VfB Stuttgart.  They have also signed Marcel ‘MARLUT’ Lutz, a Grand Finalist who booked his seat at the FUT Championship Series Live Finals in Berlin.

Will Stuttgart be invited? Will ‘DR.ERHANO’ get a chance to join his teammate at the Grand Final?

History will be written on the 5th of August 2017, stay tuned.
