Largest Prize Pool in Esports History Tops $20 Million
A new record has been reached in esports and will continue to grow over the coming weeks before the exact prize pool amount is released. Players in the International DOTA 2 Championship in August will be fighting for the largest prize pool in esports history, which is currently at $20.8 million. However the prize pool will increase seeing that the pot is crowd sourced. Dota 2 features a special add-on called Battle Pass giving players new maps and quests to participate in. A quarter of every add-on sold goes into the prize pool for the upcoming championship tournament.
Disney Invests In Esports And Brings Competitive Gaming To TV
One of the worlds largest and most well known companies has just announced their involvement in the esports industry. At Disney’s recent D23 expo they released gaming news involving Spider-Man, Star Wars Battle Front 2 and many other of their well known games, however the biggest news was the fact that the leading company plans to bring competitive esports gaming to TV with their current investments in esports.
Dell Announces New ‘Gaming Laptop’ Line, Partnership With ELEAGUE
Dell has just announced their newest Inspiron Laptop designed especially for gamers around the world, highlighting their partnership with ELEAGUE. The computer will sell as a more affordable version of their already highly popular Alienware. The announcement also came out saying Dell is now the official PC hardware provider for ELEAGUE, reinforcing their commitment in the esports industry.
