Red Bull Drop Sponsorships For Team SoloMid And Cloud9 To Settle Riot Games Dispute
After much debate with Riot games, Red Bull was forced to drop their sponsorship of top esports teams SoloMid and Cloud9 because of certain conflicts of interest. This is not the move Red Bull was hoping to be making in the esports industry. The well known company is now said to be in negotiation with North American League of Legends Challenger Series team, Tempo Storm.
DMG Invests in Super League Gaming, Launches esports Division
DMG Entertainment, best known for onscreen films such as Iron Man 3 and Looper has recently dived into the esports industry by backing Super League Gaming. DMG sees the potential esports is offering to the world and now wishes to use their partnership with Super League Gaming to grow their companies. Super League Gaming is known for wanting to bring esports tournaments to the big screen of movie theaters. Making the two companies a perfect fit.
ESL PARTNERS WITH UNIVERSITY OF YORK TO FOCUS ON ESPORTS TEACHING, RESEARCH & CAREERS
The University of York is taking a huge step in the esports world by teaming up with big name esports tournament organizers ESL (Electronic Sports League) to bring teaching, research and careers into their universities program. This is the first time a school in the UK has partnered with an esports education focused program. The news will now allow students to work towards BSc & MSc dissertations on esports.
