Cloud9 signs Svenskeren

The North American League of Legends Team is out to make a name for themselves in this years series. The team has just announced the signing of Dennis “Svenskeren” Johnsen of Denmark. The former Team SoloMid Jungler made the move from one power-house team to another, completing the Cloud9 roster for the upcoming season.  Although Svenskeren has had much success while playing in America, he is also known for being overly-aggressive in some situations leaving some people a little worried about having him on the team. Only time will tell to let us see how the new matchup works.

Dutch Dota Championships brings regular competitive Dota 2 to regional television

The Netherlands have brought Dota to regular TV programing. With an agreement with Fox Sports the Dutch Dota League has been able to get their weekly Dota 2 competition aired on TV. The program is running throughout the entire seven-month season, hoping for the chance to build up rivalries and really get to know the players behind the scenes. With this new addition Dota 2 is set to reach new heights not only within the Netherlands, but across Europe as a whole.

Fernando Alonso is the first F1 driver with an eSports team

Formula One driver Fernando Alonso has recently announced the organization of his own esports team. With many sports already partaking in the exciting world of esports Formula One is beginning to see the benefits and has jumped in full force.  Although Alonso is the first F1 driver to make the move we are sure he will not be the last as esports continues to grow and win over fans worldwide.

Overwatch Contenders the still developing Overwatch league produced by Blizzard has announced an expansion to now hold 7 regions for the 2018 season.  The company announced the 2018 tournament will hold three seasons a year, at least 6 teams from past tournaments will be invited back to participate in the 2018 Contenders Tournaments. The Overwatch league continues to grow and doesn’t look like it will be stopping anytime soon.
