Ten Franchise Teams for ‘League of Legends’ North American eSports League Unveiled

This week the news broke of which ten franchise teams for the League of Legends North American eSports League NA LCS would be invited to participate. The ten teams invited to participate were selected through a two-phase process where applicants were filed down and then invited for an in person interview. The new system being used for League of Legends competitions with the absence of relegation is exciting fans worldwide. A new format is leading to an even more exciting 2018 season.

Sources: Schalke 04 Esports to sign Vizicsacsi and Nukeduck

Sources close to the players Kiss “Vizicasacsi” Tamas and Erlend “Nukeduck” Vatevik Holm have stated Schalke 04 Esports is close to finalizing deals with the league of legends gamers. The two will make up the top and mid lane spots for the 2018 season. Schalke 04 is going through a team upgrade after releasing all but one of their players after the completion of the 2017 season.

McLaren hire eSports driver

The Worlds Fastest Gamer was officially crowned as Rudy van Buren of  the Netherlands sped past all 30,000 competitors in the challenge which started in May. With his win Van Buren will be hired by McLaren as their test driver for new models of cars. Van Buren had a past with karting throughout his childhood, which no doubt helped him become the best in today’s world.

The League of Legends Worlds final reached 60 million unique viewers

League of Legends continues to climb the charts in all aspects of the game. This years final event which was held soley in China for the first time in the history of the tournament hit an all time high viewer rate of 60 million unique viewers. Which jumped from a high of 43 million in 2016.  The peak however didn’t come during the final of the competition, but rather during the semi-final between SKT and the Chinese home team Royal Never Give Up.
